Native
vegetation on Sandy Hook can be disturbed in a variety of ways.
Storms, invasive exotic removal, restoration of disturbed lands
and maintenance of utility lines and infrastructure can create the need
for re-vegetation with native plant stock.
Funding
is provided by the Foundation to support a continuous supply of native plants to have available to restore
disturbed areas and improve visual quality of the park is necessary.
The
National Resource Conservation Service is able to collect seeds from
Sandy Hook vegetation and grow plant material for such projects.
