Sandy Hook has lifeguards on duty form 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Memorial Day Weekend to Labor day at five ocean beaches. The guarded beaches are South Beach Areas C, D, E, Gunnison and North Beach.
 

The southern portion of Gunnison Beach is clothing optional.

These areas also have accessible restrooms. HS Concessions  provides food, drinks and beach supplies at Beach Areas B,C,D,E, Gunnison and North Beach. The Sea Gull's Nest Restaurant is a Beach Area D. Concessions are open daily from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, with limited services in spring and fall. Phone 732-872-0025.
 

For your safety, please only swim at guarded beaches and follow lifeguard instructions. Swimming and alcohol don't mix.

To protect nesting shorebirds, pets are banned from ocean beaches from March 15 through Labor Day. Areas along the beach may be closed to park visitors as well. Open fires and metal detectors are prohibited.
